The City of San Carlos is excited to share that the 2023-2031 Draft Housing Element has been revised to respond to the State Department of Housing and Community Development’s (“HCD”) comments and is now available for public review for a period of 7 days. The public review period begins Saturday, January 14 and extends through Friday, January 20, 2023.

As required by State Law, the City of San Carlos submitted its Draft Housing Element to HCD in October 2022. On January 6, 2023 HCD sent a letter confirming their receipt and review of the Draft Housing Element. The letter includes recommendations on the revisions needed to comply with the State Housing Element Law. Visit to review the letter.
